The Diversionary Theatre will launch a new accessible ticket initiative, funded by a two-year grant from the Prebys Foundation.

For each production in Diversionary’s two upcoming main stage seasons, the theater will offer at least 10 tickets per performance at an “Access for All” ticket price of $10.

The tickets are first-come, first-served and will be available for all public performances as soon as the new season productions go on sale to the public. Tickets for the first production of Diversionary’s season, Midnight at the Never Get, go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday.

“This season, themed ‘Connections,’ is dedicated to fostering deeper relationships between our community and the powerful stories we bring to the stage,” said Diversionary’s Executive Director Jenny Case. “By offering more accessible pricing, we hope to break down barriers, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to engage with art that challenges, inspires and unites.”

The theater’s 39th season, which begins in Oct. 24, features a line up of premieres that align with the legacy of bringing LGBTQ+ audiences stories for, by and about the community. The season includes the West Coast premiere of the musical Midnight at the Never Get by Sam Bolen, Max Friedman and Mark Sonnenblick, the San Diego premiere of we are continuous by Harrison David Rivers, and the regional premiere of Merry Me by Hansol Jung.

Subscriptions, starting at $55, are available online or by calling 619-220-0097. Discounts are offered to seniors, students, educators and military.

Diversionary Theatre, the nation’s third-oldest LGBTQ+ theater dedicated to amplifying queer voices through the performing arts, was founded in 1986.
