Fries gone wild: El Chingon’s National French Fry Day Feast on July 11

El Chingon in San Diego’s Gaslamp District will mark National French Fry Day on Friday, July 11, by offering half-priced “Bad Ass Fries” from 2 to 6 p.m.

The “Bad Ass Fries” are a generous serving of shoestring potatoes topped with a blend of cheeses, avocado cream, jalapeños, pico de gallo, Mexican citrus crema, and guacamole. Normally priced higher, they will cost $6 for the event.

For those looking for a bigger challenge, the restaurant is also serving “All-In Fries.” This large platter comes loaded with carne asada, pollo asado, al pastor, carnitas, cheese blend, jalapeños, pico de gallo, Mexican citrus crema, and avocado cream. It’s designed for four or more people and costs $50. However, anyone who can finish it alone in 15 minutes or less won’t have to pay.
