Poway OnStage Celebrates 35th Anniversary Season with Concert by Kristin Chenoweth

Poway OnStage‘s upcoming 35th anniversary season includes a performance by a Broadway star, concerts and family friendly showcases.
A season highlight, a fundraiser at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, will feature the renowned Tony- and Emmy Award-winning actress and vocalist, Kristin Chenoweth.
“Nearly 35 years ago, the City of Poway demonstrated a deep commitment to the residents of North Inland San Diego County by constructing a state-of-the-art concert venue,” says Sharlene O’Keefe, executive director of Poway OnStage. “Today, we honor that commitment with a diverse season of concerts, plays, comedy acts and dance productions, showcasing Poway as a premier destination for art lovers from across the county.”
Poway OnStage’s 2024-25 season, which stretches from September to May, consists of 13 performances, including:
- Wild West, Sept. 14., covering the spectrum of women in country music.
- Naturally 7, Sept. 21, an a cappella group applies their “vocal play” style to movie favorites from blockbusters and classic films.
- Frankie Avalon, Nov. 2, a decades-long hitmaker from “Venus” to “Beauty School Dropout”
- “Pete the Cat,” March 15, based on the series of children’s books by James Dean.
General admission starts at $33.
The 35th Anniversary Gala on Oct. 12 includes a champagne reception, dinner and auction, as well as Chenoweth’s appearance. Tickets for the special event start at $129.
“Her extraordinary talent and star power are the perfect embodiment of the excellence we strive to bring to our community,” O’Keefe said. “This gala will not only be a night to remember, but also a crucial fundraiser to support our mission of providing diverse and high-quality performing arts experiences.”
In addition, Poway OnStage is providing high school choir students in Poway with the opportunity to rehearse and perform a song with Chenoweth as part of Poway OnStage’s Arts in Education Initiative.
