Summer Arts Fest brings live music to Liberty Station this summer

Kick off the summer season in style at Arts District Liberty Station’s Summer Arts Fest, presented by Concert For Your Cause and emceed by Apt 4 Music, a music instructional program based at Arts District Liberty Station.

Happening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the second Saturdays of July, August, and September, the festival invites the community to gather at the North Promenade, where the open lawn comes alive with incredible bands and energetic performances. Families and friends can enjoy a fun, free evening of music and entertainment featuring Whitney Shay, Kogee Soul Reprise, and Bambú Sound Exchange.

“This event is truly special because it highlights the incredible talent within our local music scene and gives artists a platform to connect with the community,” said Lisa Johnson, president and CEO of Arts District Liberty Station. “Summer Arts Fest isn’t just about great music but also about celebrating creativity and keeping San Diego’s vibrant artistic spirit thriving. Whether you’re a blues, pop, R&B, or jazz music fan, we invite everyone to come out and soak up the good tunes.”

Bring your picnic blankets, chairs, and snacks, and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere while soaking up the sun and live sounds. Sponsored by California Bank of Commerce, the festival promises an exciting mix of music, dancing, and community connection at one of San Diego’s favorite arts destinations.

2025 Summer Arts Fest Lineup

Whitney Shay | July 12
A five-time San Diego Music Award winner known for her sparkly dresses and fiery red hair, Whitney Shay is considered one of the brightest rising stars in blues. Her latest release, Stand Up! from Ruf Records, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Blues Album Chart and topped the Roots Music Report Blues Album Chart. Whether on stage or in the studio, her electric energy and soulful style keep fans coming back. Don’t miss her live on Saturday, July 12.

Kogee Soul Reprise | Aug. 9
Led by vocalist Kori Gillis, Kogee Soul Reprise brings a mix of Motown, classic soul, gospel, and jazz. Gillis grew up in a musical family and refined his craft after graduating from the United States Armed Forces School of Music. He went on to become the lead male vocalist for both the Navy Band Southwest and the Naval Forces. His recent project, Silver Lining, was nominated for a San Diego Music Award for Best R&B Album. Catch them live on Saturday, Aug. 9.

Bambú Sound Exchange | Sept. 13
An analog dance music collective led by producers and DJs Andrei Taru (bass) and Mitchum Yacoub (drums), Bambú Sound Exchange blends deep house, electronica, and global grooves. Known for their improvisational performances and all-star musician lineups—including artists from acts like Don Carlos, Aaron Frazer, and Kali Uchis—they create immersive, real-time musical experiences. Join them for a high-energy show on Saturday, September 13.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to explore the numerous art galleries, studios, local shops, and dining options throughout Arts District Liberty Station. Then stick around for live outdoor performances in the heart of the district.
